Where did your name come from? A Maltese patriot from the 1700’s… It’s also part of our bass player’s name!
Are you touring at the moment? We’re currently in the middle of supporting Groove Armada on their UK tour and we are also out and about doing our own dates around the country. A lot of fun…..
Can you tell us a little bit about your new material? The new material is coming along really well, so many ideas and so many tracks; only the best will make it on to the album though. It’s a strict selection process! I’m sat currently trying to patch guitar pedals and synths together… the studio is a complete state!
If you could collaborate with any other artists, who would they be? An all time favourite of ours is George Benson. He can shred the guitar on one of our tracks any day. Legend!
What new acts do you recommend? There are some great bands from back home like ‘The Kitchen Club’ and ‘ZX’. We also massive fans of ’Delooze’ from London… They’re incredible live.
What would be on your choice playlist? These songs get big respect at the moment :
MSTRKRFT feat John Legend – (Laidback Luke Remix)
Sebastien Tellier – Kilometre (A-Trak Remix)
Mike Snow- A horse Is Not a Home
Fenech Soler – Lies (Alex Metric Remix)
N*E*R*D – Tape You
What do you think of downloading music?
That’s the way things work. Heavy online file sharing has affected the way people find, distribute and listen to music. I think music piracy puts a serious strain on the industry. You wouldn’t go into a shop and steal a CD of the shelf and unfortunately it’s the artists that pay. That said, the internet is the gateway between new bands and their potential fan base so it’s more a case of how you adapt and work with it.
Is there anything you would like to say to TuneTribe? Yeah… Robbie Williams looks a tad different on your home page to when he performed on X-Factor on Saturday. I just can’t think what the difference is… ummm?
