Here did the name of your album come from? How To Fall Down In Public really feels like what I was doing. I tried to make an album with a very different approach this time- I think anytime that you’re taking yourself out of a comfort zone; you risk that kind of failure.
Are you touring at the moment? Not at the moment.
Can you tell us a little bit about your new material? I really didn’t expect to be making a break-up album, but in hindsight, I guess that’s what it is. I went to Paris for a month to get away from Toronto and write songs. I think some artists make their “New York” album, this is my Paris album.
What new acts do you recommend? I have actually been immersed in older music, so I wouldn’t know where to begin.
What would be on your choice playlist? Right now, I’m listening to this amazing bootleg from Toronto that was recorded at Massey Hall… it’s referred to as “The Quintet”. I will let your readers investigate for themselves, but it’s truly amazing.
What do you think of downloading music? I think it’s the best thing that’s happened to the consumption of music in my lifetime.
Is there anything you would like to say to TuneTribe? I would like to say thank you.
