First and foremost, Happy New Year people! No doubt by now you’ve heard and read enough eulogising and reminiscing on the past decade to last you a lifetime. Instead of wasting time with that, let’s do as 2009’s nemeisis of highly-confused Illuminati theorists everywhere suggests and move “on to the next one”.
With that in mind, allow me to (re)-introduce myself, my name is DeeKay (equally as impressive as if that sentence ended with “Hov” right?) and I’m a DJ (that was an unexpected surprise twist eh?), freelance journalist and radio producer. I work at Camden’s Roundhouse on a couple of their media outlets, including Roundhouse Radio which is where I also host and executive produce Fresh Cuts, the flagship Urban music show on the station and the hottest new specialist music show in the scene. Quote me on that.
What I’m known for is championing the biggest new music and the freshest up-and-coming artists about to become the next big things, and that’s what I’ll be doing over at MyBoxFresh this month. As we’re at the top of a new year and a new decade, over the coming weeks I’ll be highlighting the artists I think you should be playing close attention to in 2010.
