The World Cup is only days away now and as a massive football fan I can hardly contain my excitement. The worlds best players and international teams taking part in the ultimate football tournament for a month. New superstars will be born and legends will fade and I for one shall be glued to my TV screen.

I am not much of a gambler but I do like to have a flutter every now and again. I especially like to bet on big sporting events like Boxing or The Grand National and the World Cup will be no different. The smart money will be on Brazil or Spain to win this years World Cup but my money will be going on the Netherlands to win the tournament.

Underrated and with a point to prove you’d be a fool to bet against them. They’re also unbeaten in 19 games and fronted by the fit again Robin Van Persie I may even go as far to say he’ll end up the tournaments top goal scorer.

So, remember where you heard it first the Netherlands to win the World Cup 2010 and Robin van Persie to take the golden boot.
