Here is a video from ‘Die Getuies’ (The Witnesses), a Capetonian outfit who rhyme in Afrikaans vernac (the real deal.)

This is the first I’ve heard of them, but by the looks of it they are gonna be around a while so remember the name.
Talented Cape Town filmmaker Ebrahim Hajee did the video on “no budget,” and proved that you don’t always need da big bucks to pull off a dope video.

The video and the track is inspired by the old school Street Fighter 2 video game, and the gaming cabinets that became synonymous with corner shops all around South Africa.

The styling in the video is done by the inimitable 2BOP (”two bop” is Afrikaans slang for 20 cents, and is how much a game used to cost back in the good ol’ 8- bit days.) Some fresh stuff, check em out online.
