Hi everyone. It’s me, Loukia again. I’ve come to tell you a Christmas tale…kind of.
It’s December 22nd – I’ve done no Christmas shopping and I’ve been snowed in since mother nature decided to cake the country. As a result my social life took a turn for the worst but despite this, I’ve come to spread some festive cheer and reccommend one Christmas party that even the most severe natural disaster couldn’t keep me away from.
Before I get to the point, let me just tell you this. I was talking to my friend the other day. He told me he went to a Dancehall night on the weekend and whilst under normal raving/clubbing/going out circumstances, he never dances, as soon as the DJ dropped the riddims he couldn’t help but buss a likkle gully creeper, bogle, grab a girl and dagger. This is just another reason to prove why dancehall is the best music in the whole world. Where am I going with this story I hear you ask? Well I’m going to the Hot Wuk Christmas Party at East Village on the 29th December – and you should too. There:

That’s right ladies and gentlemen – there is no better way to burn of the Christmas calories, than by having a dancehall work out. The Heatwave will warm us up in these subzero temperatures (and help us reduce our waistline), with the hottest dancehall tunes ever in the history of all time and if that wasn’t enough – they are joined by Sticky and the very lovely DJ Motive. It’s going to be mad!

It’s this Friday, BE THERE!

Hi everyone, it’s Loukia here.
Remember how I love bashment? Remember this and this? Well the good news is, my love is not wasted. I was recently awarded the title of Greek Dancehall Queen 2010. In fact I’ve held this title ever since I acquired my first pair of pum pum shorts and learned to block traffic. Yes, I took part in an imaginary competition where I went head to head (or more accurately, bum to crotch), with some of the world’s finest daggerers and obviously I won. Now, the fact that I made all this up in my head isn’t really relevant, but what does matter is the fact that I love dancehall so much, I’m willing to sit down for hours on end having elaborate daydreams about it.
With this in mind, can you imagine how happy I was when I found out about this event:

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, man and gyal, rudeboys and rudegirls, next Thursday (25th November 2010) London’s hottest bashment party HOT WUK returns, to celebrate Sticky’s Birthday at East Village in Shoreditch. London’s finest dancehall DJs The Heatwave, will be joined by a bag of Sticky’s favourites MCs and gracing the decks/mic with fire. All you need to do is get your daggering shoes on, come down and buss a wine. The celebrations and the rum will be in full flow (and more importantly of course, you have an excuse to rub up on random men/women without getting clapped around the head).
Advance £5 tickets are available here or you can pay on the door.
To celebrate, we have a FREE Vybz Kartel download for everyone, courtesy of Adidjaheim Records. The track, appropriately entitled, Dancehall Hero which let’s face it, he is. As he says himself, everything that he does people follow. The track is available to download here.
As if that wasn’t enough, we are also giving away TWO FREE TICKETS to the event. The first people to email me at this address: hiya@loukiac.com with the subject “HOT WUK//I want to wine with Loukia” – will get in free on the night.
See you all there!
