Hi! I'm a freelance music journalist though I do write about other things,
like feminism, fashion, and you know, the issues.

I work for Ctrl.Alt.Shift, and as a contributor for Dazeddigital
online,LIVE magazine, RWD, and have also contributed to The Voice,
Young Voices, (R.I.P) and The Times. I love spoken word, grime,
literature and Girls Aloud. Dont ask me to pick a favourite because
every song is a hit, though strangely I dislike Cheryl Cole.

I'm not a boy I just have a boys name.People always tell me that fact
like I haven't heard it before, though I have started to say 'Oh
really?' instead of 'I know', to change it up a bit.

I write a lot and I love red lipstick.

    Boxfresh Guerrilla Tactics…

So, the other day I got in back home in the early hours, turned on the TV, and was greeted with Bill Oddie.Too tired to switch it, I ended up watching it for hours. (For those that don’t know, Bill Oddie is a Bird watcher.Like a less good David Attenborough). Anyway,it was shit, but in that moment definitely made me think that [...]

Earth,Wind and Fire still got it going onnn

In the beginning, there was Funk. Before Grime, Funky House, Drum n Base and Dubstep, ‘urban music’ was a soulful, funky jazzy experience, where the gial dem were booty shaking in flares and the men were macking to Motown. I grew up listening to the likes of Diana Ross and Sly and the Family Stone, which [...]

    Kieran meets Queens English!

I love hip-hop. Real, gritty hip-hop with the baddest beats and the deepest lyrics. What I also love about the genre though,is that sometimes, its just really frickin funny.Queens English are a hip-hop collective that can do humour, while getting your head nodding to the beat. For anyone who missed them at the last ‘Turn Off your [...]
